Piyaz - Turkish Restaurant

NOTE ITS BEEN ABOUT 2 Weeks since I went,I´m Just now able to put up a review

well I went to Piyaz not knowing what to expect........Actually thats half true I went there with an expectation of everything being standard Israeli fare relabeled as turkish, thankfully I was wrong

My Wife ordered the Lamb Shwarma, She was disapointed expecting it to be........Shwarma. I knew as soon as I saw it what it was.................... Döner! YES DÖNER! KOSHER DÖNER IN NYC! the taste reminded me of my trefa days eating Döner and Gyros. The rice however...we will get to later

Next up my order, Lahmacun. Now the Lahmacoun was really red, I mean REALLY RED! like raw meat. So I took a deep breath and dug in halfway expecting something like kibeh nayeh (raw meat/steak tartar type dish) but.....it was fully cooked and DELICIOUS! it was not raw at all. Now lets get one thing cleared up, Im no stranger to Lahmacun,Well at least not to La7majoun I make it all the time but never have, I seen it as Red, mine comes out more brownish due to the sumac

Lastly,My Mother got the Chicken Kebab, It was delicious! The rice however has a very familiar taste............UNCLE BENS PARABOILD INSTANT RICE! no excuse for a restaurant to be using instant rice! shame on them!

Sum up

Pros: Probably only Kosher Döner in America

Cons: Expensive,Paraboiled rice
